Technical Tips for Designing Wellness Spaces
Guide for Architects
The design of luxury residences requires the integration of wellness spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also technically flawless. To avoid unforeseen issues during construction and ensure the durability of the equipment, we present a technical overview of what we need to plan for together.
DRY SAUNA

Features of the space
It requires a sealed space with a tiled floor, plastered or paneled walls, and a maximum height of 2.10 m.
Materials and Finishes
The cladding must be made of clear pine wood (strip or tongue-and-groove) or solid wood panels. The glazing consists of 8 mm tempered glass with stainless steel frames or aluminum "U" profiles.
Insulation
It features thermal insulation made of glass wool and water-repellent insulation made of polyethylene film, both incorporated into our frames.
Ventilation
It is produced by convection within the enclosure, with no air entering or leaving from the outside.
Electrical Pre-installation
The power supply can be single-phase (220V) up to 4 kW, although three-phase (380V) is always preferred for better performance. A separate circuit is required for the sauna, equipped with a thermal-magnetic switch, a ground-fault circuit interrupter, and a voltage protector.
WET SAUNA - STEAM ROOM - HAMMAM

Features of the space
It must be a sealed space with a floor and walls that are completely lined.
Required Infrastructure
A base with a minimum interior space of 45x45x90 cm (height x depth x width) must be constructed and properly lined so that the steam boiler can be placed underneath it.
Ceiling
It must be installed on a cement board (with or without cladding) and have a minimum slope of 10%. Alternatively, a tensioned PVC fabric can be installed, which eliminates the need for that slope and can also be illuminated from above.
Ventilation/Exhaust
Ventilation should not be provided, but an exhaust fan may be installed to remove steam more quickly once use is complete.
Enclosures
They are made of 8 mm tempered glass, with stainless steel frames or aluminum "U" profiles.
Plumbing Pre-installation
A drain is required inside the enclosure, as well as a separate drain specifically for the boiler. In addition, a 1/2" cold water connection with a shut-off valve must be installed, along with a 3/4" steam line between the boiler and the interior of the sauna.
Electrical Pre-installation
Three-phase power supply (380V) for the boiler and single-phase power supply (220V) for optional lighting. A separate circuit with a thermal-magnetic switch, a ground-fault circuit interrupter, and a voltage protector is required.
HYDROMASSAGES

Design Criteria
The ideal model is defined based on the project's dimensions and overall design.
Location
A dry, level surface is required. The average installation height is 45 to 55 cm.
Technical Access Points
A minimum of two 40x40 cm openings is required at both ends, and these must be ventilated.
Electrical Pre-installation
Single-phase power supply (220 V) via a separate circuit with a thermal-magnetic switch and a ground-fault circuit interrupter.
Plumbing Pre-installation
A 40 mm drain and connections for hot and cold water supply are required.
MINI POOLS

Standard Dimensions
0.80 x 2.00 x 2.00 m (height x width x length).
Structure and Weight
It has a Polimax hull with a self-supporting steel structure. Its approximate weight is 1,500 kg, including the water load.
Technical Access Points
Inspection access is required on at least two of its sides to connect and inspect the equipment properly.
Equipment and Engineering
It comes standard with filtration, heating, and hydromassage systems. Chromotherapy lighting is available as an option.
Plumbing Pre-installation
A 50-mm drain and the corresponding hot and cold water supply are required.
Electrical Pre-installation
Three-phase power supply (380V) configured as an independent circuit with a thermal-magnetic switch, residual current circuit breaker, and voltage protector.
